We continuously test our candles and it is important to us to offer a clean, optimum burn for each type of candle we make. Having the proper wax to essential oil ratio, along with the proper wick size allows our candles to utilize most of their wax without breaching the sides of our pillar candles and burning to the sides of our container candles.
To optimize the burning of your candles, it is important to follow some simple guidelines and we offer the following candle burning tips to you ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pillar Candles
~Burn Pillar Candles 1 hour for each inch in diameter allowing the flame time to melt the wax close to the outer edge without it overflowing. Not allowing the candle to burn until the wax melts close to the outer edge will cause the candle to core down the middle and shorten the burn time.
~Always keep the wick centered and trimmed to 1/4" - If flame begins to flicker excessively, extinguish flame and trim wick.
~Always burn pillars placed on a level surface and a heat resistant holder
~Palm Wax Pillars will burn a bit differently than our paraffin wax pillars because Palm wax is a harder. They will burn leaving a wall of wax around the edge, but eventually the wall will become thinner with each burning.
~Paraffin Wax is a softer wax and as burned will soften and fold in around the edges.
Beeswax will also form a wall around the edge, but eventually the wall will become thinner with each burning.
Container Candles
Burn container Candles 1 hour for each inch in diameter allowing the flame time to melt the wax all the way to the edge of the jar. Not allowing the candle to burn until the wax melts to its outer edge will cause the candle to core down the middle and not burn all wax completely.
~Always keep the wick centered and trimmed to 1/4" for optimum burn. If flame begins to flicker excessively and smoke, extinguish flame and trim wick.
~Containers should be burned on a level surface and a heat resistant holder
~Always handle burning container with care as heat can cause the jars to become too hot to handle.
~Allow candle to cool before replacing the lid
Basic Candle Burning Tips for all types of candles ~
~Never leave any type of candle burning unattended ~Keep burning candles away from children and pets ~Do not place burning candles near flammable objects ~Place all candles, including jar candles on a protected, heat resistant, level surface ~Keep candle free of wick trimmings, matches or other items that could be a fire hazard ~Avoid burning in drafts to eliminate uneven burning ~Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch ~Check candles periodically to make sure candle wick is centered ~Allow candle to cool before trimming wick or relighting
